The way this webpage is organized is a manner that separates content into 3 different categories based off of the rhetorical devices each piece of content contains. The design of the page is meant to pass off a professional feel since our group wants to stress the seriousness and the importance of this subject. Due to the complexity of this subject, our purpose isn’t to create a message that backs a specific piece of action, but it’s to inform readers on the impacts of how some of the decisions parents make can impact children. We used a variety of rhetorical devices to educate and influence future decisions individuals will make that may impact the stability of their family. Below is an outline of the different tasks of what each member did:
Jorge: In the “Annotated Playlist” section, Jorge compiled musical pieces (primarily rap) that portray the struggles and instability endured while living in a single-parent home.
In the “About” tab, Jorge gives insight on the purpose of the website, why our issue on the website matters, and our position on the issue. The “About” tab also connects Steinbeck’s novel to the issue by using the Trask family as an example for our issue.
